Week 5 - Making Tileable textures in Substance Designer

following up from week 4 and the UVing I started to plan on making a brick material for the building in substance designer. with a small amount of experience, I knew what to expect but did not have a lot of confidence to get through this section smoothly


before starting the brick material I went to my old mud material to familiarise myself again with the nodes system and workflows used within Substance Designer to get the needed outcomes. I realized the common nodes I would need to use are blend, noises, levels, gradient maps, and outputs.

After a few hours messing with many nodes in Substance Designer, I have come to this material which is a good start however, it may need improving in the future as it is too cartoon for my liking.


For now, though I still plan to use this as a placeholder at least
