Week 2 - Blockout

With week 1 research still fresh in my mind I started to draw some concept designs using Adobe Photoshop for the 3D model I will make.

When making this in Photoshop I was experimenting with different positions, styles, and sizes for the door, windows, and patterns to go for the front of the store. While looking back at my research from week 1 to keep my designs looking like Victorian era or Diagon Alley. The reason I'm keeping my designs strictly to this style is that the brief strictly says it must be those styles. While working in industry it will be common to get restrictions like this while modeling to match the project they plan to make.

Maya Dimensions

ree

Before making a block out in Autodesk Maya I first made sure that my measurements (cm) and scaling were to the correct size for the brief. To make sure that I stay within the boundaries set by the Brief I created a flat plane to the exact dimensions of the maximum width and depth so that when I create the building I don't accidentally go over.

Maya Blockout

Once the scale was set correctly in Autodesk Maya I started to 3D model three basic designs based on the drawings I made in Adobe Photoshop, which could be In my final design. when creating these three designs the main attributes I would experiment with are the shape of the building, the windows, and the roof finish. on top of this, I used a scale human to try to keep the building as accurate and realistic as possible as the brief wants the art direction to be realistic
